Obituary for Rose DiDonato (San Germano)
Rose DiDonato, age 88, of Hamilton entered into God’s eternal rest on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at the Compassionate Care Hospice unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital of Hamilton, NJ. Ms. DiDonato was born February 8, 1929 in Trenton, NJ where she was a lifelong area resident. Rose was a graduate of Villa Victoria Academy in West Trenton, NJ where she studied Opera. Not long after graduation she met and married her love of 50 years, Joseph DiDonato, Sr. She was a stay at home mom, who spent most of her life raising her children. Her and her late husband lived in Arizona for a brief period of time. Later in life she worked for ten years at Carter Wallace Laboratories in Cranbury, NJ as an administrative assistant. She enjoyed preparing meals for her family, and loved music, especially opera. Rose was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Daughter of the late Frank and Jenni (Scarna) San Germano; beloved wife of the late Joseph DiDonato, Sr.; Rose is survived by her two sons, Joseph DiDonato, Jr. and wife Ellen, and Michael DiDonato; seven grandchildren: Pete, Erik, Anthony, Nicholas, Heather, Jessica, and Michael; a sister, Charlotte and husband Louie Tammaro; a brother, Charles San Germano and wife Doris; a brother-in-law, Michael DiDonato and wife Erica “Ricky”; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Graveside Catholic funeral services were held Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ. There were no calling hours.
