Annunziata Panzitta (Maccarone)
Annunziata Panzitta, age 105, of Ewing, who was one of thirteen children, entered into God’s eternal rest on Friday, January 26, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Calimera, Calabria, Italy she immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 and has resided in Ewing Township ever since. Annunziata, aside from being a wonderful homemaker had worked in both Horsman Doll and Baxter Clothing factories for many years.
Annunziata spent countless hours in her garden. She looked forward to gathering her family once a year to jar tomatoes which made the front cover of the local newspaper. She loved to crochet and was excellent at both cooking and baking, and loved to feed and entertain everyone. She also enjoyed going to the senior center in Robbinsville every day with her son Domenico where she helped serve everyone like they were her family. She loved being surrounded by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Daughter of the late Domenico and Maria (Pata) Maccarone; beloved wife of the late Rocco Panzitta; mother of the late Domenico Panzitta; grandmother of the late Rocky Giancarli and baby Maria Panzitta; mother-in-law of the late Francesca Panzitta and Andrew Giancarli; she is survived by her son Giuseppe “Pepe” Panzitta (Julia); her daughter Angela Giancarli; 13 grandchildren: Nancy Recine (Domenic), Angela Forchi, Maria Capuano (Aniello); Rosemarie Dickison (Doug), Rocco Panzitta, Joseph Panzitta (Jeanne), Marcus Panzitta (Heather), Anthony Giancarli (Linda), Andrew Giancarli, AnnaMarie Crivelli (Joseph), Marco Giancarli, Joseph Giancarli (Lisa), 24 great-grandchildren: Domenic (Danielle) and Gabriela Recine, Amanda Leiggi, Stephanie and Anthony Forchi, Carlo (Kelly), and Maria Rosaria Capuano; Daniella and Drew Dickison, Julia, Presley and Dominic Panzitta, , Lily and Giuseppe Panzitta, Anthony, Martin and Paul Giancarli, Alexa Marie, Gianna and Joey Anne Crivelli, Samantha and Marco Giancarli, Daniella and Rocco Giancarli: 2 great-great-granddaughters, Francesca Capuano and Stella Recine; a sister Rose Manco; and a brother Antonio Maccarone; a nephew, Domenico Mack (Molly) and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. James Church, 29 E. Paul Ave., N. Trenton, NJ. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call Monday from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM and Tuesday morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638.
