Obituary for Mary Kane (DeAngelo)

Mary (DeAngelo) Kane, 94, of Hamilton, entered into God’s eternal rest on Monday, January 29,
2018 at the Compassionate Care Hospice Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at
Hamilton. Born in Trenton, Mary was a lifelong area resident. She retired after 23 years of
dedicated employment from the State of New Jersey Department of Transportation where she
was a principal account clerk. Mary loved to sew and was an expert seamstress. She was a
former member of the Live Wires Senior Citizens of Ewing.
Mary loved to travel and enjoyed many vacations after her and her late husband’s retirement.
They had traveled to Italy, Hawaii, and took cruises to Panama and Alaska. Mary was the
matriarch of her family and loved nothing more than surrounding herself with her beloved
family. She loved animals, especially dogs. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother,
grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend as well as a champion against cruelty
to animals.
Mary is pre-deceased by her parents Salvatore and Mary (Commiso) DeAngelo; her beloved
husband of 71 years, James Kane Jr.; her six siblings: Pat DeAngelo, Rae DeAngelis, Belle Falcey,
Louis DeAngelo, Rose Keefer, and Betty Pirone; Mary is survived by her two daughters,
Kathleen Joseph, and Colleen and husband James McAllister; three grandchildren, Lori Scudillo,
Henry James Joseph & Ted Beck, and Rebecca Lynn Joseph; three great grandchildren, Dustin
and Douglas Smith, and Anthony James Joseph; as well as many nieces and nephews and other
family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Our
Lady of Good Counsel Church, 137 W. Upper Ferry Rd., W. Trenton, NJ. Entombment will follow
in Ewing Cemetery, 78 Scotch Rd., Ewing, NJ. Family and friends may call from 10:00 AM to
11:00 AM at the church prior to mass. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the
