Louis “G.G.” Mimmo, 87, of Robbinsville, NJ entered into God’s eternal rest on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ocean City, NJ on August 8, 1930 his family moved to Trenton when he was a child. He was a graduate of the Class of 1948 from Trenton Catholic High School, he went on to attend the Trenton Technical School for Electronics. In high school he played basketball, baseball, and football, as well as for the City Boys Club of America.
Louis was a service manager and an expert repair technician for College T.V. for over 55 years. He was a former 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He served as commander of the Italian-American War Veterans, was a life member of the Bordentown Elks, a life member of the Italian-American Sportsman’s Club, a member of the Ocean City Sportsman’s Club for over 55 years, serving as a vice president and trustee; he served in the U.S. Naval Reserve, he was an usher and in the Holy Name Society at St. Joachim’s and Immaculate Church for over 55 years.
He was a devoted New York Yankee fan, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Vito and Maria (Galasso) Mimmo; his son, David Mimmo; his sister, Lucy Bogdol; his brothers-in-law, Joseph Genovario, Henry “Sonny” Bogdol, and Thomas Bogdol; he is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Elsie (Genovario) Mimmo; his 3 loving children, Michael Mimmo, Joseph Mimmo and wife Cynthia, and Karen Mimmo; 6 grandchildren: Ryan, Justin, Michael, Mackenzie, Matthew, and Madison; a sister, Rachael Bogdol; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim, 20-56 Butler St., Trenton, NJ. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call Tuesday morning from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
