Rose Northey (Martucci)
Rose M. Northey (nee Martucci) age 87, of Lawrenceville, NJ, surrounded by her loving family entered into our Lord’s Kingdom on February 16, 2018. Born in Trenton, NJ, Rose lived in and raised her family there. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Rose Martucci, husband Harold Northey, brothers Vito, Daniel, Alfred, Carmen, Michael and John, sisters Nancy Cacioppio, and Ellen Gigunito.
She is survived by her daughters Valerie Northey of Franklin Township, NJ, Patricia Salvatore and her husband Joseph (her man) of Newtown Pa, Annamarie McMullen and husband Timothy of Mansfield Township, NJ, her six grandchildren Matthew McMullen, Elizabeth Armstrong, Andrew McMullen, Lauren Salvatore, Thomas Armstrong and Amanda McMullen, step granddaughter Jennifer Salvatore, step great-granddaughter Sophia Rose, her sisters Lucy DiMattia and Clara Cowell, and sister-in-law Annie Martucci. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
All who knew Rose knew that her grandchildren were the “six loves of her life” as she was theirs. Rose retired from the Trenton Board of Education after a long and fulfilling career. She later went on to dedicate her time and service as a volunteer at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton, NJ. Rose was known for her generous heart and willingness to help everyone! She was fiercely loyal and protective of those she loved. Some of Rose’s interests included drawing, painting and road trips with her sisters.
The family is forever grateful to the loving staff to of the Masonic Village at Burlington, for the wonderful care she received. Although she suffered from the effects of Alzheimer’s disease, she never lost her loving ways or her feisty spirit. These are the qualities that will forever be remembered by those who loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Angels Parish-St. Joachim, 20-56 Butler St., Trenton, NJ. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
