James M. DiClaudio “Bear/Jimmy”, 67, of Hamilton died Sunday, February 18, 2018. Born in Trenton, Jimmy was a lifelong Hamilton/Trenton resident. He attended Steinert High School Class of 1969. During and after high school he was employed as an auto mechanic at Johnnie’s Service Station, then Smokies Service Center. He was formerly employed for over 26 years with American Standard as a maintenance mechanic. When the plant closed he worked as a truck driver, a pipe fitter and finally as a plumber steam fitter for the State of New Jersey Trenton Psychiatric Hospital where he retired in 2016 after 14 years of service. In his retirement, he worked part time as a snowplow operator for the Department of Transportation WOST program.
James was a life member of the Colonial Volunteer Fire Company, the Hamilton Elks B.P.O.E. Lodge #2262, and the Harley Owners Group. He was also a member of the Hamilton Senior Center where he enjoyed shooting pool.
Jim was a motorcycle enthusiast, riding his Harley to rallies and poker runs, as well as to Sturgis, So. Dakota during bike week. He also road as a member of the Polar Bear Grand Tour.
He loved watching NASCAR, and other truck and dirt races. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking, eating spicy foods, and nature, he especially enjoyed watching the neighborhood “critters”.
Jim was a loving and devoted grandpop who enjoyed doing activities with his grandchildren and watching them play sports and do gymnastics. He was a hard worker who could fabricate parts and loved fixing things. He was always there to lend a helping hand.
Jimmy is now in heaven making brackets for the angels and repairing their broken wings.
Son of the late Jacob DiClaudio; he leaves behind his mother, Margaret M. (Dietrich) DiClaudio; his wife Janice (Bohn) DiClaudio; his two sons, Adam (Jodi) and Joseph M. (Kathy) DiClaudio; three grandsons, Jonathan, Joseph and Nicholas; three sisters, Chrissy Arcuri (Phil), Kathy Dempsey (Dennis), and Rose Leming (Mike); a sister-in-law, Dott Hagerman (Pete); a brother-in-law, John Bohn Jr.; a niece/Goddaughter, Jackie Leming; five nephews, Matthew J. Dempsey, Steven Leming, John III, Michael Sr., and Steven Bohn; two great nephews, Matthew L. Dempsey and Michael Bohn Jr.; two special friends, Joe Shargo and Kenny Geigk; as well as cousins and other family members and friends.
Christian funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cedar Ln., Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Saturday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
