Obituary for Fanord Jean
Fanord Jean, 66, of Ewing, died Thusday, February 22, 2018 at the Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City surrounded by his loving family. Born in Grand Goâve, Haiti, Fanord immigrated to the United States in 1983 residing in Brooklyn, NY prior to moving to Ewing ten years ago. He owned and operated his own car business, and driving a taxi for over 30 years. He was an extremely hard worker his entire life.
Fanord had a special love for animals, and was a most loving and giving person. He loved to garden and sing and would do so anywhere. Fanord was a natural comedian who enjoyed making others laugh. As a history buff he was always up to date on the world’s current events, and especially enjoyed Haitian politics. Fanord was a devout Christian who was very active in his church community at the Disciple Church of Christ. His life motto was, " Live today while you can. Ou pa prale avek anyen. Ou te vini demen-w depye-w."
Fanord is preceded in death by his parents, Poteau and Sylvena (Cius) D’Haiti; he leaves behind to mourn his untimely death, his beloved wife, Yvrose (Dominique) Jean; his four children, Youdelka Jean and husband Hernaud Batraville, Faniola Jean, Vanessa and husband Mikhail St. Louis, and Medji Jean and husband Ronald Jean Louis; two adored grandchildren, Aryanna Hope and Josiah Ayden St. Louis; his brother, Louissel Jean and wife Mona Jean; three sisters, Anìese Timothée, Therese D’Haiti, and Lisanie D’Haiti; his mother-in-law, Elaine Jean Louis; two sisters-in-law, Margarette Poulard and Marie Agathe Charles; two brothers-in-law, Rony Dass and Lionel Robert Dominique; a great aunt, Marie Charite Louis (Mommy. Lexene); and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.
Christian funeral services will be held Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Clergy from the Disciple Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
