Kathryn Russo Nixon (Kohler)
Kathryn Ann Russo Nixon, 78, of Ewing, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family at Capital Health Systems at Hopewell. Born in Trenton she was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Kathryn retired from the State of New Jersey D.E.P. Division of Parks and Forest where she was a senior clerk typist for 20 years. She was a former member of the Lawrence V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary and the Hollowbrook Senior Center. Kathryn resided at the Greenwood House where she made many friends with both the residents and staff and loved playing cards and bingo with them. She also enjoyed crocheting. Kathryn was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Daughter of the late William and Marion (Comisky) Kohler; beloved wife of the late Donald Nixon; she is survived by her four sons, Vincent Russo and Lisa Coryell, Ronald “Bud” Russo and wife Lynn, Richard Russo and wife Donna, and Robert Russo and wife Halina Chmara; six grandchildren, Christina, Amanda, Jessica, Elizabeth, Michael and AnneMarie Russo; a great grandson, Jacob; her sister, Peggy and husband Walter Anthony; a niece and two nephews, Bill Anthony and wife Pat, Terry and husband Dr. William Chiu, and Lee Anthony and wife Rose; several great nieces and great nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrence Rd., Lawrenceville, NJ. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Ave., Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Kathryn’s memory to The Greenwood House, 53 Walter St., Trenton, NJ 08628 and earmarked in the memo to the Family and Friends Activity Fund.
