Peter Gregory Chrambanis, aka Pete Chambers, 64, of Princeton, entered into God’s eternal rest on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Compassionate Care Hospice Unit at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton surrounded by his loving family. Born in Trenton, NJ, Peter was a lifelong area resident and a graduate of Ewing High School. Peter was trained as a chef and attended The Culinary Institute of America in New York. He worked for many restaurants during his career. He was a gifted singer/songwriter who could play the guitar, flute, piano, and harmonica. He loved to sing and was active in the Princeton Folk Society. Peter absolutely was at home in the kitchen where he loved to cook. Peter was also excellent at presentation of his dishes. He loved nature and being in the outdoors both walking, hiking and biking. He had a great love of baseball inspiring him to write the song “Shoeless Joe Jackson.”
Peter was an amazing husband and father whose witty sense of humor always made him the life of the party. He enjoyed being silly and funny. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many.
Survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Joanna Franc-Chrambanis; his two daughters, Marie and Georgia; his mother, Dorothy (Galanos) Chrambanis wife of the late Peter (Buddy) and sister of the late James Galanos. He is also survived by his brother, John Chrambanis and wife Athanasia “Sue”; a sister, Diane Chrambanis and her husband Vincent; a sister-in-law, Justyna along with 3 nieces, Mary, Dina and Daria; an aunt, Christine wife of the late John Jeremias. The Families Jeremias, Altomare, Wells, Burpulis and Themely as well as several other family members and many good friends.
Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619. Cremation was held privately. Christian memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
