Obituary for Robert "Bob" Stevens

Robert (Bob) Stevens, 81, of Ewing, NJ, entered into God’s care on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Sunrise Assisted Living of Old Tappan NJ, with his loving family by his side.

Born in Bethlehem, PA, he was raised in Miami, FL, and resided in Ewing Township for 48 years prior to spending the past seven years in Old Tappan.

Mr. Stevens was a self-employed landscape architect and the proprietor of Garden Scapes in Pennington, NJ, prior to his retirement. He was a talented designer who perfected his craft by spending a year in Japan studying gardens and landscapes. After retiring, Bob was the owner of Real Life Designs in Hamilton, NJ with his son for 12 years.

His passion for life, fun and family were evident to all who met him. Bob enjoyed music, particularly Jazz and Latin, as well as playing percussion instruments.

He was a loving devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend, who enjoyed being around others and enjoying the moment.

Predeceased by his parents, Bela and Grace Szeles, his siblings and his loving wife of 48 years, the late Rose Marie (Giordano) Stevens. He is survived by his children, Robert Stevens and his fiancée, Maryann Ziccardi, Christopher Stevens and his wife Erin and Jennifer Latino and her husband Vincent. Bob is also survived by his seven cherished grandchildren, Gabriella, Robert, Francesca, Jake, and Stella Stevens, Luciana and Giovanni Latino; his sister-in-law, Kathleen Lord; his nieces and nephews, Pat Serenelli, Mario Serenelli, Lou Mraw and wife Lisa, Tracy Shainheit and Rich Lord.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Saturday, January 26, 2019 at St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ.

Burial of cremains will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ 08610.


Calling hours will be Saturday, January 26 from 9 to 10 am at St. Ann's Chapel in Lawrenceville, there will be no calling hours at the funeral home.
