Obituary for Andrea M Petranto-Ash

Andrea Marie Petranto-Ash, 54, of Hamilton, entered into God’s care Friday, February 15, 2019 at her residence with her loving family at her side after a seven-year long battle with Leiomyosarcoma.

Born in Trenton, Andrea was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of McCorristin High School, Class of 1982, Rutgers University, Class of 1986 where she earned her degree in Psychology and Early Elementary Education and her Masters Degree in 1992 in Social Work.

Andrea was formerly employed as a supervisor with the State of New Jersey Department of Human Services Division of Family Development.

She enjoyed shopping, reading and spending time with her girl-friends, but her greatest enjoyment was catering to the needs of her daughters, husband and family.

Predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Edmund and Pauline Winiarski and her paternal grandparents, Michael and Josephine Petranto, she is survived by her loving husband of sixteen years, Mark Ash; her adored daughters, Jamie, Ciara and Amy Ash; her mother, Jeanne Petranto and John Wittmann; one brother, Joseph Petranto; her father, Edward Petranto and wife, Angela; her mother-in-law, Geraldine Voacolo and John Murphy; her uncle Martin Winar, her aunt Mary Petranto, great-aunt Sue Allegretti and her special friends, Donna, Amy and Linda; also survived by several cousins and numerous friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 3816 E. State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.


There will be no calling hours.

Burial of cremains will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony’s Parish, Sports Committee, 3816 E. State Street Ext., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
