I remain profoundly saddened having only recently learned of John's untimely passing. In the mid-1980s through early-1993 John and I were coworkers and what stands out most in memory is the energy and light he brought to the job and his relationships.

Planning his vacations, when we worked together in the Parkway Avenue GM plant , John would ask to borrow my wristwatch with the perpetual calendar so that he could look ahead in time for the dates which best fit his busy schedule. John was devoted to his family often outlining his ambitions to improve their standing in life and he vigorously strove toward that goal. I easily recall his laugh, his voice and his friendship and it seems as though he's only just left the room and will shortly return. So long, John, we hardly knew ye.

John was both smart and kind. He was cheerful and upbeat and
easy to talk to about many different subjects.

I watched him play and laugh with his grandson at a holiday party;
they were both so happy to be together. It made me smile.

With John's passing, we have lost a "good guy."

May he rest in peace.

With heartfelt sympathy,
Jeff Pompeo
