Obituary

Rose M. Zuccarello nee Fiore, 93, of Ewing, entered into God’s eternal rest on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 10, 2020 surrounded by her loving children after succumbing to complications of pancreatic cancer. Born in Trenton, NJ, Rose was a lifelong area resident. She grew up on Wilson Street, and attended Monument Grammar School, Junior Three, and graduated from Trenton Central High School. Rose retired from the New Jersey State Department of Insurance in 1991 as an administrator after four decades of diligent service. Over the years, she was active with the Delaware Valley United Way, the Rosary Altar Society at her church and countless parent teacher committees. She was a parishioner of Incarnation-St. James Parish. As a lifelong proud and loyal Democrat, she worked on local, state and national campaigns, hosted political cocktail parties and kaffe klatsches, met or befriended many officials, including governors and presidential aspirants.
Rose enjoyed a long retirement filled with crocheting, traveling, casino gambling, bowling, brunching almost daily at local restaurants, playing friendly games of poker, and the company of her family, especially her sisters. She was even featured in a film credit. To the end, she found strength in her Catholic Fatih and the Promise of the Resurrection.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Fred Fiore and Millie (Festa) Fiore; her husbands, Edmund R. Esposti and Anthony S. Zuccarello; her son, Anthony J. Zuccarello; her siblings, Pauline Sacco Raywood, Jean Canale, Benjamin Fiore, Rachel Sparano, Mamie T. Burns, Christine Filipponi, Frances Vaccaro, and Serafina Esposito; Rose is survived by her three loving children, Marie Filidore (Douglas) of Hamilton, NJ, Cheryl Priori (Victor) of Trenton, NJ, and Francis Zuccarello of New York, NY; a daughter-in-law, Anna May Zuccarello; seven grandchildren: Gia Laarz (Brian) of Clayton, NC, Jenna Gonzalez (Miguel A.) of Ewing, Dr. Douglas A. Filidore (Darah) of Downingtown, PA, Anthony T. Filidore (Jessica) of Draper, UT, Anthony Zuccarello, IV (Wendy) of Hamilton, John D. Zuccarello (Sara) of Hamilton, NJ, and Adam Priori (Erika) of Newtown, PA; fourteen great-grandchildren: David Nagy, Leanne, Nathan, Anna and Thomas Filidore, Angelina M. and Miguel A. Gonzalez, III, Kaitlyn Zuccarello, Anthony Zuccarello, V, Julia Marie Zuccarello, John D. Zuccarello, Jr., Master Luca Priori, Luciana and Colette Priori; her beloved sister, Marie Gustino Tomczyk of Ewing; as well as many nieces and nephews, across five generations residing around the United States and Canada and a close friend and caregiver, Deborah Navarro-Gallagher.

With this tree, Rose, your spirit will bring new life, and a new home to many, although perhaps not as tidy as the one you left behind here on Earth.
