William “Bill” J. Vickers, 83 of Ewing, entered into God’s eternal rest on Sunday, July 26, 2020 at Hamilton Continuing Care in Hamilton, NJ. Born in Trenton, Bill was a lifelong area resident. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He worked for the now defunct Gould Battery on Calhoun St. and retired from the New Jersey National Guard as Chief Armorer for about 21 years. He was an honorary member of the 112th Field Artillery Association.
Bill enjoyed bowling and baseball in younger years. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Son of the late Joseph E. and Elizabeth C. (Rafferty) Vickers; brother of the late Betty Jane Kurtain; brother-in-law of the late, Richard Levenduski and Larraine Buckley; Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Patricia A. (Levenduski) Vickers; his son, William “Bill” Vickers and wife Ann; a brother-in-law, Ronald Levenduski and wife Amelia “Amy”; a niece, Betsy and husband Michael Wolford; two nephews, William Kurtain and wife Susan and Daniel Kurtain and wife Jean; a great-niece, Molly Wolford; as well as many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Christian funeral services will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at 12:30 PM at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638. Family and friends may call Monday from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
