Obituary for Jonathan Grant Fregans

Jonathan Grant Fregans, 45, of Pemberton, NJ, entered into his eternal rest on Saturday, October 31, 2020. Born in Princeton, NJ, Jonathan was a lifelong area resident. He resided in the Pemberton area for the past 19 years. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School Class of 1993, he received his associate degree from Barton College in Wilson, NC and has degrees and many certifications towards his career of electrical engineering. He was an alumna of the Chapin School, Notre Dame High School, and Barton College. Jonathan was a union electrician for the past 24 years with the I.B.E.W. Local #269 where he served as an executive board member since 2013 and served on the Brotherhood Picnic Committee where he was known as the “Clam Man”. He was politically involved in assisting with providing support to various union families. He was a trustee for the AFLCIO Burlington County Central Labor Union Committee and on their Scholarship Committee.

Jonathan was a 3rd Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping, and just being outdoors, especially summers at the beach spent with family. Jonathan was a fan of both the NY Giants and the NY Yankees.He loved nothing more than just being at home with his wife and kids and cherishing small moments. He had a huge heart and looked out for those who were down on their luck. He was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend to many. He will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved him.

Jonathan is survived by his wife of 19 years, and exclusively together for 27 years, Karin Elizabeth (Casto) Fregans; his two beloved children, Grant Walter Fregans and Gianelle Regina Fregans; his parents, Walter and Betty Lou (Garzillo) Fregans; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clifford and Regina “Jeannie” (Jones) Casto; a brother, Brandon Fregans and wife Allison; two sisters-in-law, Regina DeBronzo and Maryann and husband Ryan Graham; two brothers-in-law, Joseph Casto and wife Theresa and Clifford Casto and wife Devin; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 3816 E. State St., Ext. Hamilton, NJ. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call Monday from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
