Joseph DiStefano, age 97, of Hamilton, entered into God’s eternal rest on Friday, November 6, 2020 at the Hamilton Grove in Hamilton, NJ. Born in Philadelphia, PA he resided in Hamilton Township for the past 46 years. Joseph was owner/operator of J. DiStefano & Son Local Hauling for many years prior to going to work as a truck driver for Lifschultz Fast Freight Inc. in Philadelphia, Pa. He was an avid Phillies fan, who enjoyed watching television game shows, and music and dancing shows. Joseph was always willing to lend a helping hand to others and had hands of gold that could fix just about anything, especially, cars, trucks and other repairs. He was loved by all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed. Joseph was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Son of the late Dominick and Matilda Di Stefano; beloved husband of the late Anna Maria (Visco) Di Stefano; brother of the late Stephen Di Stefano, Nancy Ponzo, Carmela Rocco, Carrie Mangiaracina, and Stella Ferrara; he is also predeceased by his longtime companion, Carolyn Fabiano; Joseph is survived by his two loving children, Theresa Di Stefano and Dominick Di Stefano and wife Janice; two grandchildren, Ginnine and Dante Di Stefano; two loving sisters, Esther Bilardo and Louise Crispen; Debra Streeter who was like a daughter to him; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; the family would like to express their gratitude for the compassion and excellent care given to Joseph by the staff of Hamilton Grove and Serenity Hospice Care.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Raphael’s Church, 3500 So. Broad St., Hamilton, NJ. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Cedar Ln., Hamilton, NJ. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619.
