Obituary for Elizabeth "Betty" DiCara (Ferrazzano)

Elizabeth “Betty” DiCara, 79, of Ewing, entered into God’s eternal rest on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Capital Health Hopewell. Born in Trenton, NJ she was a life long area resident. Betty as she was affectionately known was a graduate of Trenton Central High School Class of 1959. She was a dedicated employee for the State of New Jersey Department of Health for 25 years prior to her retirement. Betty formerly served as President of the the Ewing Township Republican Club, a member of the Women’s Contemporary Club of Trenton, and a member of the Republican Club of Berlin, Maryland. When Ewing Township changed to a mayor council form of government she was the first woman elected to the council and was the first woman on the Charter Study Committee.
Betty was good at ice skating, and loved to decorate her home for every holiday. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Daughter of the late James and Rose (Vannucci) Ferrazzano; sister of the late, Robert Ferrazzano; sister-in-law of the late Dominic DiCara; she leaves behind to mourn her loss, her loving husband of 29 years, Joseph A. DiCara; her two children, Donna Marie (Genovesi) Holden and Jeff Schurter, Rocco Genovesi Jr. and wife Jacqueline; four step-children, Cynthia and husband Gary Herd, Kathleen and husband Christopher Bradley, Dr. Joseph A. DiCara Jr. and wife Catalina, and Diane DiCara; 11 grandchildren: Kathryn Ray, Michael James, and Joseph Genovesi, Ashley, Matthew, and Joseph Bradley, Mia Olivia, Talia Josephine, Anthony Joseph, and Gabriella DiCara, and Nicholas Herd; as well as 2 sisters-in-law, Regina DiCara and Louise Ferrazzano; 4 nieces and nephews, Paul Ferrazzano, Regina, John, and Dominick Jr. DiCara; and many friends. “Betty is also survived by 3 family dogs…Reese, Tucker and Buddy.”
