Mary T. O’Brien (1928-2021), age 93, of Hamilton, formerly of Long Beach, NY, peacefully entered into her eternal rest on Friday, April 9, 2021. She was at home with her daughter and grandson who she lived with since 2019. Mary came to NJ in 2013, residing in the Rossmoor Community in Monroe Twp. until she moved to Hamilton. Born in New York, NY, Mary lived in Long Beach, NY with her late husband John (Gabbo) until his passing. Mary and Gabbo loved living at the beach, traveling the world and above all, people. A colorful, people person, Mary continued to travel, had many friends in Long Beach, all over the country and the world. She was a great swimmer and loved to recount her time in synchronized swimming as well as her experiences during her many trips abroad. Mary was a legal secretary for the late Lawrence Elovitch in Long Beach, NY for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many.

Daughter of the late Clint and Iva (Cress) Darcy; beloved wife of the late John Paul O’Brien; Mary is survived by her daughter, Sharon OBrien-Gloos; grandson, Zachary Gloos; son-in-law Conrad Gloos; sister-in-law Kate; nephews Charlie , Billy and his wife Carol, Craig and his husband David, Ralph; her late niece Sara’s husband Bob, niece Kelly and her husband Bruce; grand nieces and nephews Katie and Arlo, Mike, Joe, Emily, Liam and MacKenzie, her great grand nieces and nephews, her cat Cleo and many friends.

Memorial visitation will be held Sunday, April 18, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ 08619 with a mass at St. Ignatius Martyr Church in Long Beach, NY late summer or early fall. Cremation was held privately. Sharon, So sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences. I remember visiting you at Long Beach for a party and outdoor BBQ. Both your mom and dad were there. They were so nice and jovial. Everyone had a good time. I remember it still so many years later. Take care. Time and your memories will help to ease the sorrow of this time. Love, Turid
